In these workshops, an instructor leads a class where you can learn new skills and end up with your very own piece of art to take home. From journaling, to collaging, to painting, we’ve done it all! We provide all the supplies you need and encourage you to bring snacks and drinks! We hope you make a mistake, try something new, form a new friendship and most importantly have fun!

Basics of Bookbinding – Let’s Make a Junk Journal
July 26th 6PM – 9PM
Did you know you can make your own adorable journal out of junk? Well one man’s junk is another man’s… In this fun filled class host Jennifer Perkins will walk you through the steps from making a fabric cover, creating a signature and a basic bookbinding stitch.
Everything you need will be provided from vintage papers to pompom trim, but as always feel free to bring any favorite pieces of ephemera you might have like to include. Items such as old greeting cards, sheets of scrapbook paper or pieces of your kid’s school art work all work great.
Once you know the basics of bookbinding you are on your way to create all kinds of journals. Jen will bring examples of more complicated bookbinding techniques and different types of junk journals to get you inspired.

Beginner Sewing Tote Bag
August 9th 6PM – 9PM
New to sewing or it’s been a minute? This tote bag is a great project to learn basic techniques such as cutting, straight stitching & pivoting. At the end of class, you’ll have this cute & functional tote bag! You’ll also receive the instructions so you can stitch up for as gifts for friends & family. We have a limited number of sewing machines so please bring your own if you have one. Class fee includes fabric and all supplies needed. BYOB & any snacks you’d like to share.


Tween and Teen Junk Journal and Zine Making Party
August 15th 6 PM – 8:30PM
This is a special night out just for crafters ages 10-14 who love stickers, pizza and a pack of paint markers.
Join the party with host Jennifer Perkins author of Creative Crafts For Teens (regulars at Figment might also know her as Ms. Jen). Everyone will learn how to make a basic journal out of fun scrapbook paper, a single sheet zine AND stickers from packing tape.
Once the booklets are made everyone will be set up with a buffet of markers, stickers, instant cameras and glue sticks to junk journal the night away while listening to music and munching pizza with friends.
All supplies will be included but attendees are encouraged to bring stickers to swap, their own bits of ephemera from summer travels (ticket stubs, postcards, photos) and if they have an existing journal they are working in bring it along.

Pet Portrait Watercolor Workshop by Katie Chance
August 29th 6:30 PM – 8:30PM
Turn your beloved pet (or favorite animal) into a watercolor masterpiece in this fun and approachable workshop!
In this class, you’ll learn how to transfer your pet’s image to watercolor paper using a simple tracing technique with charcoal and a printout of your photo—creating your own version of carbon or graphite paper. No drawing experience required! After outlining the traced image with pen, we’ll dive into watercolor using the expressive wet-on-wet technique to bring your pet to life with vibrant color and personality.
Before class: Please submit a clear headshot of your pet so we can prepare your printout in advance.
Don’t have a pet? No problem! We’ll have a variety of animal images on hand for you to choose from.
All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary—just come ready to have fun and get creative!

Our Ladies’ Art Nights are a fabulous alternative to standard paint and sip classes. Instead of teaching you how to make the same painting as everyone else, we’ll help you tap into your own creativity. We love to tailor our classes to each group by understanding what you are interested in and what you want to create!
Our Art Nights begin at $150 for a group of four, and each additional participant is $30. Depending on supplies needed for the the project, the price may go up. The Ladies’ Art Nights are two hours, and while they are often on Friday’s and Saturday’s from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, we can be flexible depending on our instructors availability!
