Adult Art Nights
Upcycling- Mending With Love #sashiko
September 27th | 6PM – 9PM
Join us for a hands on visual mending workshop where you’ll learn the art of transforming worn clothing into beautiful, renewed pieces. We’ll explore Sashiko-inspired embroidered patches that turn tears and holes into decorative features, discover how to use a mini-loom to seamlessly repair sweaters and kintwear, and experiment with natural dye baths to refresh stained garments or give them an entirely new look.
Bring a piece of clothing from home that needs some love, or browse (and bring things for) our clothing swap to find something new-to-you to work with. Whether you’re looking to extend the life of a favorite garment or simply want to try sustainable fashion technoques, this workshop combines practical mending skills with creative expression, helping you build a more intentional relationship with your wardrobe.
Hocus Pocus Heads
October 4th | 6:30PM – 9:30PM
Work a little magic on ceramic head planters this Halloween.
Join host and Halloween enthusiast Jennifer Perkins for this wickedly fun workshop. Each guest will receive their own bust which they can paint and adorn as they see fit. While these beauties dry students will learn to make several styles of felt Halloween flowers.
At the end of class students can choose from an array of freaky foliage to fill their heads with. The best part is, the flowers never die!
Doll Head Witches
October 18th | 6:30PM – 9:30PM
Do you remember the adorable kitsch angels of Christmas past with cute doll faces, fluffy blonde hair and giant gold wings? Think of this as her evil step sister.
In this workshop host Jennifer Perkins will dig in her stash of vintage doll parts to bring a selection of heads for you to choose from and make your own kitsch witch. There will also be lots of fun fabric, trim and sequin choices to make the perfect spooky dress. These witches look great on the top of your Halloween tree or sitting pretty on a shelf.
In class we will talk about how to assemble the dolls, basics of attaching fabric to various surfaces and where to souce parts when you want to go home and create an entire coven.
Beginner Mahjong Meetup
October 17th | 6:30PM – 8:30PM
Ready to learn Mahjong? The Mahj Social Club will be hosting a group class here at Figment!
Group classes are the perfect way to dive into mahjong—no experience required. Led by two engaging instructors, each session is designed to be interactive, approachable, and just the right mix of teaching and play.
Join other players and learn the game of American Mahjong for a group Intro to Mahj lesson hosted by Mahj Social Club. Lesson includes game instruction and all materials needed to play.
Grab your friends (or come solo!), claim your seat, and get ready for a lively, tile-flipping good time. Space is limited — grab your ticket now!
This class is 21+ years of age. Feel free to BYOB and any snacks you may desire.
Plan Your Own Ladies’ Art Night!
Looking for a unique girls’ night out or a creative way to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette party, or just an evening with friends? Host your own private art night at Figment Creative Labs in South Austin!
Our Ladies’ Art Nights are a fun and flexible alternative to traditional paint-and-sip classes. Rather than copying the same painting, your group gets to explore your own creativity with a customized project — from painting to journaling to mixed media crafts.
Here’s how it works:
- $150 covers your group of 4 participants
- $35 per additional guest
- 2-hour workshop led by a professional instructor
- All art supplies included
- BYOB welcome — bring snacks, drinks, and your favorite people!
We’ll help tailor the project to your group’s interests — whether you’re into watercolor, collage, or something totally outside the box. Events are typically held on Friday or Saturday evenings (6–8 PM), but we’re happy to coordinate a time that works best for your group.
