Well cup stacking was a huge hit today at camp. I forgot how much we did this two summers ago. I think they liked knocking them down, while I took a slow motion video most of all. I love when I hear,”This is the best day ever!”😍👉👉👉
We made “paint slime”. I love these little canisters from @michaelsstores #makeitwithmichaels This is my favorite slime recipe: 6oz glue, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon warm water, squirt shaving cream, food coloring, 1.5 tablespoon contact solution. Fold in glitter if desired.
Well I’m from Louisiana, and I try to spread my love for Louisiana artists from time to time. Today my class of campers learned a little about @george_rodrigue and his #bluedog work. We read #areyoubluedogsfriend and took a look at his coffee table book #bluedogman Do you know his work? I love his blue dog work, but my absolute favorite piece of his is a painting of his son Andre called Kiss Me I’m Cajun. (😍👉👉👉 last photo) It reminds me of my childhood home on the bayou.💗
We have incorporated lots of outdoor play this year at Figment. We have been working on our garden area, and continue to work on our outdoor animal areas. Everything is a slow process, but a labor of love. 😍👉👉👉
We are adding a bat house to the Figment garden. So here’s the deal. We got ducks so they would eat bugs in the garden and fertilize the garden. Well, ducks poop a lot and that attracts flies. Did you know that single bat can eat up to 1,200 mosquito-sized insects every hour, and each bat usually eats 6,000 to 8,000 insects each night? We learned a lot about these little bug eaters today and made flying bat sculptures.
