Hello Austin Maker Mamas! Are you looking for a creative community, a place to work on your trade, a creative co-working space, with or without childcare? I have a creative space for all ages @figmentcreative . It is an art school/ maker space in south Austin 7809 Brodie Ln 78745. We offer something for all ages, ex. Toddler Playgroups (Mommy & Me), Creative preschool, open studio time after school, art birthday parties, ladies art nights… I started teaching classes and camps out of my garage almost six years ago. We bought the old Mariposa Montessori school space and grew the business exponentially. During the summer we are jam packed with kids and creative fun. It is a large space with tons of possibilities, but there is a lot of pressure to fill it at all times. I want to make it a space where the community can bond through creativity. I also feel very strongly about helping other creative mamas with small businesses. Being one myself, I know the struggles that come along with creating, running a business, raise human beings…
On January 16th 6-7pm (after the holidays) I would like to host an open house for this group to tour the space and see what kinda interest there is in maker co-working time with or without childcare. May be membership based..
Also if anyone is interested in running a ladies art night or artist run workshop, we can talk about that. If you are interested in the art night/ workshop idea please email me before hand with images and links to what you do and what you have in mind.
