Texture!

Yesterday I cooked the boys pasta (angel hair to be exact).  Good thing we were able to make some fun art with the pasta, because they refused to eat the marinara.  It had “green stuff” in it. So at least it wasn’t a total wash. When I drained the pasta I ran cold water over it to cool it down. My Italian husband would have been mortified if he were there to see me do that. Since the pasta was cool enough for us to work with and wet enough for it to still stick, we started throwing it! (At a large piece of cardboard .) We aren’t animals. Pasta is such a fun sensory material dry or wet. We let our pasta art dry overnight and painted it this morning when a friend came over to paint.

Feeling The Texture

This was such a fun action art project where we studied texture and layering.  M got to paint the dried pasta textured art piece.  She started out with a brush, but later decided to use her fingers to paint.
